Exhaust Suggestions (N/A V6)

Hey folks,

I'm thinking it's time to update/replace the system on my 97 V6 LX. I currently have a Tru-Benz 2 1/4" kit with a dual in/dual out Magnaflow resonator and Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers. Lately the drone from the resonator has gotten to the point of being obnoxious. System was fairly quiet when first installed but that's not the case now. Not sure how everyone likes their system but I'm looking for quiet now! o_O Unfortunately the Dynomax mufflers are no longer available and don't want to go with another resonator. Some have suggested an X pipe or going with another set of convertors behind the stock ones, and I'm not sure what to use for mufflers now. I know it's not a SC, but the V6 is close enough!

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I know some people have used stock 05-09 Mustang GT mufflers, which flow pretty well, fit well, and are reasonably quiet being a stock muffler. I would also recommend putting the largest mid-mount resonator you can fit, as on the V6 that seems to be far more effective at reducing drone. On my XR7 when I went from the 4x9x14” to the 5x11x19” resonator, the overall volume didn’t change much, but the drone on the highway was drastically reduced.

Yes it’s a Magnaflow DIDO. My setup is 2.5”, but 2.25” will be quieter, and more than enough for the 3.8NA, so I would stick with that.
