First time at the track this year

I hit the TNT last night at VMP, temps were ok but the DA was 1700 ft. I was rusty to say the least but managed to run 11.70, 11.67, 11.51 and 11.48. 60 fts. were 1.66, 1.61, 1.60 and 1.58 on those runs. It felt good to go down the track again, next time will be Fun Ford Weekend in a couple of weeks.

Weighed the car at the track, it's now 3600 lbs. Between the new fuel system and shorter exhaust I lost 60 lbs.

Roadhawgs daughter ran her SC powered Mustang down the 1/4 for the first time, she can chime in on her times. We did line up once and she tree'd me by 2/10th off the line, my reaction time sucked. I didn't catch and pass her till I was in 2nd gear........................:p

The car did not run as fast as I had wished. I believe the 1700 DA was a contributing factor. This was the cars first run on the 1/4 since the swap. I think I need to push the 2-3 shift out farther. The best run of the night was a 12.83@106.7mph. I tried to talk Keith into running heads up without the bottle, but he preferred his 100 shot. As far as reaction times go, when my daughter raced Keith it was a .014 to a .293 :)

Oops.:D

Good runs Keith. Feels good to be back out there, don't it? See you down there in a few weeks. And the best thing is it didn't break.

12.8s aint shabby. I'm sure the air sucked.:)

BTW it was almost 3/10ths a .014 to a .293 :p

You're right, made up 2.6/10th's at the 60' mark, by the 330' mark I was way ahead. On motor I probably wouldn't have caught her...........:)

My best reaction time of the night was a .155...............

Good runs by both of you. I'm sure the air had a lot to do with it Friday nite. Keiths car was picking up all night so the later the better it was working. Combination of driver and air!! :D

Roadhawg, you are probably right. You all have been running 1/8th mile for a while. You probably do need to adjust the shift points.

What were the 1/8 times in comparison to previous runs??

Way to go. Jen thats a wicked light!!!!! ;)

;)

Actual order of runs were 11.70, 11.67, 11.48, 11.51. I think with good air I would have been in the 11.1-2 range. I'm going to get Chris to show me the tricks he uses to lock the trans. up from the top of 1st gear on, seemed to improve his track times, it sure is good to have a 4R70W.............:D

Not only did the car do well, the driver did a bang up job...straight as a string and down the middle makes for the shortest run possible....Good job Jen, looking forward to meeting you at the shootout.....Dan

Here's a pic of my launch, no tire spin here.......all traction baby......:D

this is what your car looks like launching a 1.5 60'.
