Fuel system for e85 high hp

As alot of you know i went with a surge tank when i decided to run e85. Well after i had my exhaust redone because of a bad resonator I discovered my surge tank was leaking again which was a huge contribution to the fuel smell problem i had. Because of the limited amount i drive the car much less racing it i have decided to go back to an in tank pump. My car has all ptfe stainless braided fuel lines billet rails, regulator and 1300 cc injector dynamics injectors. I am going to us a 525 lph walbro in tank e85 capable pump and keep the tank full under any hard driving. I will post pictures as i go along here are some of the removal!

I'm interested in seeing some pictures of this pump mounted and plumbed on the fuel pump hat. Are you also going to add bigger supply and return ports on the fuel pump hat ? Talking about a stock SC tank right ?

Basically this is the stock in tank pump for a Hellcat. I had problems trying to post a picture of it due the the link. It is rated at 470lph and is about a mm longer than the stock pump. It has a 55 mm inlet which will just take a little fabrication on my part to make it work. I am going to lay it on the bench next to my current 340 with the sock filter and set it up to be as close as possible. i plan to use m6 bolts and lock washers through the power plug just like my current in tank pump with the housing I am going to attach a photo of in the next post. It has already been retrofited for 8 an supply and 6 an return lines which is what i plan to run. the outlet size on the pump is 11 mm and the nipple on an 8 an bulkhead fitting is 3/8 so I dont see a need to modify the structure of the lines going in the pump hat. Well after doing some more research, I am going to use the 8an bulkhead fitting and about 6" of corrugated ptfe fuel line with clamps.

I dont know what size the tube is but from what ive seen so far in looking for an intank pump e85 proof submersible fuel hose 8mm or 5/16 is common. Using an 8 an bulkhead fitting would just remove another small restriction in the system. It appears to be a highly used pump among the boosted platform. The surge tank works its just very complex and has lots of extra things you have to keep an eye on.

Hell cat pump works great!

well i got the pump installed an the assembly and it worked very well. The strainer i used was a delphi bfs 0169. The corrugated e85 capable hose could have been shorter but came in a nice kit with the pump. I had to drop the tank even though i have an access hole to my pump due to the size of the walbro but it went in fairly effortlessly. I used brass maching screws for the wiring and an 8an bulkhead fitting for the outlet.

I don't know if this helps, my 95 cougar runs an 4.6 V8 E85 engine. 344 rwhp.

340 LPH pump 60 lb. injectors and all other fuel system parts are stock.

My car is a high hp 4.2 build. It is somewhere around 500 rwhp with 130lb injectors. I had a stealth 340 in the tank and two bosch 044s that are also rated at 340lph. The problem was I would always find leaks and just got tired of it. My car will only run on e85 when being raced so keeping the tank full wont be an issue and this pump puts out 470 lph at 13 volts. I also have a kenne bell boost a pump installed if it ever needed more.
 
Good find Dave!

I never did find a good steel MK8 tank for my project...looks like you have a much easier/cheaper/better solution now anyway. :)
