Head Gaskets

I have a 90 that lifted a head and I've read here before about using the 4.2 MLS gaskets for replacements. The engine has a few mods, MPX and exhaust ARP studs.

Any advice appreciated.

If it lifted a head, the type of gasket isn't your problem. The ARP fasteners aren't doing there job or were not used/installed correctly. Detonation from over advanced ignition timing, poor fuel quality or grade, air/fuel ratio incorrect, over boost or exhaust back pressure high/restrictions.

Yep use the MLS gaskets. Make sure the shop knows how to machine the heads properly for them. they and the block needs a much smoother finish than used for the standard Fel-Pros.

Ya, it was the guy that installed them not knowing tq specs are different for studs.
I won't do it again
