Headlight Assembly Clips

I am trying to replace my badly yellowed headlight lenses. What is the recommended method of removing the headlight assembly clips? I tried to get one out with 2 flat blade screwdrivers to pry the lower tabs out and pull with pliers, but the top of the clip broke off.

Is there a replacement part available for these clips in case I break more of them trying to get them out?

Replacements are easily available.

Thanks! Should I just break them all off and replace with new ones, or is there a good way to get them out without breaking? I ordered a pack of these either way, in case more break.

They make ring pilers to spring the clips for removal but your call. Cheap enough it doesn't matter either way.

Well, I bought some ring pliers, eventually got 5 of the 6 clips off. Driver's side lower clip top broke off and I can't get it out. 90 degree tip broke off of the new pliers, so I guess I'm exchanging that.

Any tips on how to get the lower clip out when the top is broken off? It's hard to reach as it is and can't see in there well.

Thanks, those don't have the retaining clips though. I wish mine were this easy to remove!

Thanks! I bought a 6 pack just like that off eBay. I finally got the 6th mangled clip out today. Hopefully I can see better at night with the new lights :) The top tab broke off both lower clips, making it difficult to grab them to pull out, once the side tabs were loose.

I used a pick to get mine out.
