JBL Audio Subwoofer replacement

I've got a lead on a replacement woofer for the 6.5 inch subwoofer that came with the Ford/JBL Audio system for our Birds, and with a bit better specs, and made of polypropolene instead of paper. I'm going to buy it Monday 12-13-04 and install it right away. I think that it will sound great, but I'll let you know. If it sounds like I think it will, I'm going to have access to a few dozen of these replacements. I'll have some detailed installation instructions for you as well.

I think I could get all of this to you for around $25 - $30 shipped.

And, please bear in mind, this is IF it sounds good. I wouldn't want to do this if it doesn't sound good.

Is there anyone out that that would be interested?

Ride safe and God bless,
Alan

Three months too late...

Why couldn't you come around three months ago...JK. I was looking for a replacement and couldn't get one so I ended up getting an 8'' and customizing the box to fit it. Best of luck with your setup.

I have interest.
Mike, and whoever else is interested... I have completed the job and the replacement speaker sounds good, and is WELL worth what I'm asking for it. $30, shipped, for a replacement speaker for the JBL audio system subwoofer and extremely detailed installation instructions. It's not a $150 speaker, but it sounds very close. For $30 I'm sure you'll be happy. Get back to me if you are interested.

Cool, I'm still interested. Please send or list physical and electrical specifications of the speaker. I.E. Height, width, materials, Ohms, range, etc. thanks.

I'm interested. Will it work for the JBL in a 90?

My car has Ford premium sound and does not have JBL in it. Just wondering how hard is it to swap over. I have the Jbl speakers now but no subwoofer or box or nothing. Just wondering how hard it is to swap and if its possible im interested. Thanx

Chad...For the money you will have to spend on setting it up, you'd be better off investing in some after market components. Afterall stock "premium" equipment is only so good after an average of 14 years.

Also on this topic, isn't there already a suggested replacement Sub that was in the FAQ section, or accessable by search? Thinking more on it now, I think it was on the 35th anny reg homepage.

Irreguardless, keep us all informed of what you find.

Car audio has never been a forte of mine....is JL still the preferred brand to replace the OEM subwoofer speaker?

Did a search on ebay like it was suggested in this thread but none of the brands there I recognize.
