Looking for After Market Gages

Thewood, while I think it is entirely possible that you may have gotten a part which had a problem, you can not expect more than a refund for your purchase. When buying used parts these things happen. While you may have been upset and perhaps put to a rather large inconvenience over the whole thing, you have a responsibility to the seller. Return the part. To do otherwise is indeed theft as David has said. I'm sure you don't think of it that way as I do not believe you are a theif, however failure to return his part or his money does IN FACT constitute theft.

Apologies to all about the thread hijack.

I don't think making empty threats is anyway what-so-ever good conduct here.
Why not analyze all the facts and read the original thread when the request came in for the valve body. It appears that the buyer requested an unmodified used valve body and the seller stated it was, said he inspected it and from the PIC and the buyers own posts here, it appears what was sent out was a modified valve body.
Original Thread for 90 SC Valve Body

There are 3 possible things here:

1. Thomas actually sold him a bad valve body.
2. The buyer used thomas' valve body to replace a bad one in his own car and took pics of his old bad one to get his money back.
3. The buyer bought thomas' valve body and tried to install a shift kit and fukkked it up himself..

I rule out #1 because Thomas is a very honest person. He did more than I would have, by refunding all fees paid, that alone shows integrity. thewood should have returned the bad valve body, end of story.

You don't buy a part from autozone, throw it away and still get your money back, you have to return it.

By the way rickbtbird, welcome to the club.. I see this is your first post. Kind of odd for a newbie to post their first post in a thread such as this.

Thanks for the welcome. I posted here because I was looking for a valve body myself for my coworker’s Cougar and this really caught my eye. I'm thinking going to a junkyard would be better then going though this crap. That’s one of the reasons I don’t ebay any more. There just too many people selling junk that doesn’t work and then claimed that it was just perfect when they had it and the hassle to get your money back is just a waste of time.

I think if you read through everything, you will notice that the seller did say that it was unmodified before selling it to the buyer and then later say in this thread that it had a shift kit installed in it while the seller owned it. That is a documented fact. I think we should look at all the facts because some of your statements are pure speculation.

Of course not sending the valve body back to the seller and sending it to the dump over a $50.00 sale, well I don’t have all the facts either but appears to be sort a drastic move. Calling either one of these guys a thief is a bit of overkill. I would bet that both these guys are now going to do more business locally moving forward.

Where I come from sir, people that make threats like that are noticed and watched.

Where are you from? I don't know why people don't put that in their ID.

Pardon me, I'm not from one of the 13 original colonies and cannot figure out how you came to the conclusion that the valve body was modified. Please enlighten me.

It's called a transmission rebuild. Have you heard of that before? The VB was in no way modified or changed. It shifted 100% the same as the day it came off the assembly line. Wow, even the noobs are getting after me. Like I said, I have nothing more to add.

I've never heard of anybody rebuilding a transmission without either replacing or rebuilding the valve body.

EXACTLY!!! So where do you get that it was modified and a shift kit was installed? That's what you said early? Rebuild or Replace....... yeah... I'm not seeing where a shift kit was installed??

then later say in this thread that it had a shift kit installed in it while the seller owned it.
Can you show me where I said that? That is a total lie that you made up! Hrrrrrm... from one of the "13 colonies" ......... "thewood" is from Mass. And you just started posting? Seems like thewood found somebody to try and make me look bad?

You're confusing rebuilding with modifying. I've rebuilt my valve body when my transmission was being rebuilt but I kept it stock.

Actually Tom, I am on your side with the Transmission issue. However I don't think it is appropriate for me to comment since I am not one of the parties involved.

I was invited to this site by the Owner. I am sorry if you consider it spam.
