No boost?

Glad to see you found what the problem is. Suggest replacing the entire snout. Doesn't matter if its from early or late model supercharger. Snout is same, but late model has a slightly smaller pulley. Just need a thin coating of RTV to seal it up. I would let it dry overnight before adding oil.

My local dealer has always has the oil in stock, but he also owns some Ford GT's & Shelby GT500's & a Lightning truck.

Maybe other dealer's don't any longer? If they sell or service Mustangs, you'd think they would have to. I usually pick up 2 or 3
bottles at a time.

Oil is:
  • Ford P/N: XL-4/.XL3Z-6A828-AA
  • GM P/N: 12345982
  • NYE SYNTHETIC OIL 605
I went to the local ford dealer for oil and got nothing but blank stares...same thing at a small chev. dealer & two parts houses nearby - finally went to the largest GM dealer in the area and when I asked for supercharger oil, the reply was 'how many?'.

It takes 8 ounces if you drain & fill. The GM stuff cost $10 per 4 oz. bottle. Ford wants quite a bit more, if they have any.

The Ford dealer here wants $55 per 4 Oz... So I ordered some online $15... Put it on yesterday morning but didn't have fluid until today and it runs just as normal big thank you to everyone and Madmickeyl for the SC.

I run Eastman 2380 turbine oil in mine. Available at aircraft supply outfits. Nowhere near the price of the Ford stuff. If it is good for jet turbines on commercial aircraft, it is more than good for a blower snout. It is full synthetic and hydroscopic as well.

Yeah, I used BP 2380 turbine oil for many years in my M90s. You can buy it at just about any of the small airports or order it on line.

Eastman bought out the BP lubricant line some years ago. I guess they needed something to fill in when Kodak went away.

I have a quart of Mobile jet 254 , ( equiv. to BP/eastman 2197), that is HTS, (high temperature stability) oil. The supercharger in my E55 Mercedes calls for Mobile Jet ll, which is equivalent to BP/Eastman 2380. The HTS class oil is called third gen, and less coking, but I'm more concerned about it's shear, and gear loading properties. I don't know if it is equal, or better in that area.
