ODB READER

I have a 1991 Ford Thunderbird SC. My check engine light comes on/and off. At times it will be on for awhile.. I cant locate a mechanic or shop with the correct ODB Reader to find out what the problem is. Does anyone know where I can get one and the correct model number and price ?

INNOVA 3145 is a OBD1 reader for Ford 1981-95
Available everywhere as far as I know.
Retails for $57.00 in Canada. I'd assume even cheaper in U.S.

I looked up 3145 and it seems like a good reader. Many have been sold.

Following.
I have a 1993 Thunderbird SC. Very rarely, the Check Engine light comes on and stays on. But a lot of times, when I turn the car off and restart it, the Check Engine light goes away. I keep an Innova Code Reader with me at all times. Last time the Check Engine light was on, I pulled over to a parking lot and did a Key On Engine Off and a Key On Engine Running test and had no error codes. When I turned the car on the Check Engine light went away.
I know there was a time a few years ago the light stayed on even after I restarted the car, but I didn’t have a code reader or paperclip to perform the test at that moment. I keep hoping to figure out what that could be before it becomes a real problem.
