Overdrive issue

94 Ford Thunderbird Supercoupe, 48k miles. At highway speed, the transmission will drop out of overdrive for a few seconds and then back to overdrive. It will do this about every 20-30 minutes. The speeds sensors have been replaced, no change. Any ideas what could be going on?

Good evening

Problem could be a broken 4r70w overdrive servo snap ring.

Has the transmission been serviced recently?

Could also be a bad MLPS (manual lever position sensor). 94-95s had a problem with them, might need to be updated.

Yup , good chance its the MLPS or the connector , but inspect to make sure the electrical connection is good first .
