Thank again everyone for coming it was truely great event. I would also like to thank Rich for towing my car home from the track after my 11.122 pass. It appears I need to do headgaskets at the very least along with maybe some valve work. Thanks again.

Sincererly,

Chris, the big thanks goes to you for organizing such a great event. You did a great job.

Thanks also to David Dalke for aranging all of the sponsorship for the event.

Edit: I would also like to thank the sponsors for all of the support. You made for a great event.

I can't wait for next year.

-Steve

I just wanted to thank everyone that helped organize this event. It definitely needs to continue yearly.

I'd also like to thank Coy Miller, Chirs Wise and David Neibert. Without Coy's parts arriving on Saturday morning (the 20th) and Dave and Chris turning wrenches, my engine would have never been assembled in time for the event....heck, I only had 300 miles on it when I competed in the racing.

Chris

Chris, sounds like it was a heck of a meet, nice job. But you blew your head gaskets again? There has to be something we can do, you are using the 4.2 gaskets right? Probably drilled for 1/2" studs too? Who else broke something there? Tell your stories.

Thanks to all!

Chris, congratulations on what by all accounts was a well organized and well run event! Your "committee" email group was a good way to get input from several people in our community.
I know David Dalke did a lot of work as well on this event. Good job, David!

Sorry I was unable to attend, but from the sounds of things there will more of these events in future years for those of us that missed out! I'm also please to see the level of sponsorship from the SC vendor community.

I'll get with Ron and Duffy and we'll setup a section on the SCCoA site with information about the event as I had promised you.

If you have other information you would like on the page, please send them to Ron at scguys@sccoa.com.

To all you participants with the fast times, please get your timeslips and mods in to Ron at the above address, if you haven't already done so.

Kudos to all attendees and racers for advancing the state of the SC/XR7 just a little more! What will these guys/gals do for an encore in 2004? Only time will tell!

Aaron,

On Chris's previous run, a hose clamp that was holding one of the IC tube connections broke and allowed the hose to come off shortly after the shift into second.

When this happened there was a loud backfire and big cloud of black smoke. Steve Webb and I thought he dropped a valve. But after seeing that it was still running, I'm thinking it must have been a nitrous backfire. That's probably when the damage was done.

It's leaking combustion into the cooling system and has a miss but still managed to run 11.1, so it could be alot of things. I've got my fingers crossed that it's only a head gasket.

David
