You really need to stop making stuff I want. If you start making parts for my other cars I might be in trouble.

Sorry, can't help it.

What other cars do you have? I'll look into it. ;)

Are you going to get in on the pre-order discount? Only 8 shopping days left.

Want to make any cool stuff for a 57 T-Bird?

As much as I'd like to, I probably won't get in on this one early. That 57 is nearing completion and I'll owe Dave D some money pretty soon for my SC. I don't have a lot of extra cash at the moment.

Got the UHMW stock in today.

Made the prototype upper bushing and it fits just as I designed. I'm quite happy with it.

Tomorrow I'll make the prototype lower, and then start making a few sets.

Reminder: There are 6 sets in this batch and 3 are already spoken for.

Finished the lower bushing prototype today. Took a while to get the dimensions just right, but it came out great. And the bushing set w/sleeve even weighs less than the stock parts they're replacing.

Made the three remaining upper bushings for my car, and will make the three remaining lower bushings tomorrow. Then I have to wait for the sleeves to come back from anodizing (they arrived in NC today). Once, I've installed mine, and I'm satisifed that everything is as it should be, I'll produce and ship the sets that have been paid for.

Installation Instructions

I'm sending a set out Monday to someone that has a spare sub-frame, out of the car, for a test fit. If all goes as expected, the other kits that are paid for will go out within a week or so.

To install the new UHMW bushings:

1. Clean the sub-frame bushing mount holes.

2. Insert the upper bushing. You may need a dead blow hammer, it's an interference fit.

3. Tap in the sleeve from above, to just below the top surface of the upper bushing.

4. Place the 1 1/2" stainless steel washer on top of the sleeve.

5. Press the lower bushing up from below until it stops. There should be a very small gap (see picture) between the top of the lower bushing and the sub-frame, that will disappear when the bolt is tightened.

6. Insert all 8 bolts loosely, using the stock sub-frame bracket (front) and cup (rear). 4 - sub-frame, 4 sub-frame brackets

7. Align the sub-frame using the alignment holes on each side near the back of the sub-frame. (I'll post some pictures of this when I re-install mine in a couple of days)

8. Tighten bolts as indicated.
