1990 thunderbird super coupe.

Mods:
supercharger overdrive
double intercooler
short tube headers
cam swap (xtreme energy 210/218)
new spark plugs
longer O2's

after all mods were installed i went to start and it would crank awhile until it sputtered to life. when it did start it would barley run before dying. you could rev a bit but very choppy.
I found out that the car had 15psi of fuel pressure. after the fuel filter was replaced the car now has 45 psi max but still doesn't run right. injectors do not leak because it held fuel pressure over night.
I bought a cam position sensor alignment tool thinking that was the problem. i found that it was a tooth off so I re adjusted the sensor. after aligning the sensor I still have the same problem.

i am at a loss. im leaning towards needing a tune. i hope someone can steer me in the right direction.

I actually meant the cam timing in relation to the crank, since you've changed the cam. You wont be able to verify that by just looking at the rocker arm's wiithout using a dial indicator & a boresope. Another possibility, since you had the front of the motor dissasembled to replace the cam is damage to the crank sensor &/or harmonic balancer when it was reassembled. Did you replace the timing chain & gears at the same time? Any diagnostic codes logged?

I’ll have to see about damaged sensors. They don’t look cracked and reluctors are strait.

You can check cam timing without looking at the cam. as you go up when your coming up to TDS exhaust will just shut and intake will start to open.

I agree w/Doug, sounds like that is your main issue right now. How did you seal them?

I'd smoke test it.

I sealed the supercharger top with an anerobic sealer. I didn’t use anything on the pipes as there wasn’t any that I saw when I pulled it apart

Cam timing is spot on. I’ll throw the intercooler back on with anerobic sealer. I’m starting to think more along a spark issue. I hope I can find someone with a smoke tester close

Exactly the symptoms I had when I put things back together after doing heads. Going back over the IC piping cured them all.

Ford used teflon tape as a sealer, which supercoupe performance sells now. I use pre-cut re-usable teflon gaskets, which I don't see for sale at this time, but highly recommend if you can find them.

Clean the seats/faces, seal them up, tighten them down, let things sit over nite, then re-tighten.

Perfect as soon as I can get the parts I’ll seal it up. I’ll try to find somthing closer being as Canadian super coupe performance parts would take awhile. I’ll post an update once everything is sealed
